Canvases

Pre-stretched and gessoed canvases are available to purchase from the Center at cost.

Brushes

Oil painting brushes have longer handles and natural bristles where brushes for acrylic have shorter handles and synthetic bristles:

• Round Oil painting brushes sizes: 2, 6, 8, 12

• Round Acrylic painting brushes sizes: 2, 6, 8, 12

• Square or Flat brush size 18 (roughly 2 inches wide)

Oil Paints

I recommend Artist’s (e.g. brands like Gamblin, Winsor & Newton, Michael Harding etc), not student quality.

• Titanium White/Zinc white

• Ivory Black

• Burnt Sienna

• Yellow Ochre

• Ultramarine Blue

• Burnt Umber

• Venetian Red

• Magenta

• Cyan

• Nickel Azo Yellow (or strong lemon or cadmium yellow)

• Viridian Green

• (Optional: Crimson)

Oil Mediums

• Mid-size bottle of 'Liquin' Original made by Winsor&Newton

or

• 'Neo-Megilp' by Gamblin

Acrylic Paints

Artist’s quality if possible e.g. Lascaux, Golden, Winsor & Newton
